canot associate php files with php.exe or php-win.exe

Hi
I have installed GnopeSetup-1.5.1.exe on my winxp .
however when I try to associate any php file with php.exe or php-win.exe which exists under my installation in C:\PHP-Gtk2 the association does not happen and double click on php files opens the files in the prviously defined program , in my case textpad .
what am I missing here ? is it some dll that should be manualy registered so windows will recognize the exe files ?

any help ?
